Sat down, well, sprawled on the sofa more like, and watched a very eagerly-awaited dvd of Shaun of the Dead with a couple of drinks.
It has just so many bloody good moments, not just the obvious Romero and cult movie references, but a genuinely funny and intelligent script courtesy of Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, but it's also one of the very few films to successfully springboard away from television, which was Spaced of course, co-written by Pegg (with Jessica Stephenson, who had a brief cameo in this, along with an A-Z of modern British TV comedy) and directed by Wright.
If you didn't catch it at the cinema, then you should really try and watch it on the small screen. I can't recommend it highly enough... of course, if you didn't like Spaced then it's probably a fair bet you won't like this, but still, give it a chance.
