This is a response to a recent BBC survey on "How British do you feel" - made me laugh:
"I am English 100% and not European!
I think they should make the questions harder and if people cant speak, or write in fluent English, then they should not be allowed into England.
England was once an Island but since the tunnel was built were no longer an island. Lets get rid of the tunnel and keep England an Island as it was once before.
I fly the Union Jack and dont care if nobody likes it, that's there problem."
First of all, the apostrophe (or rather the lack of); second, 'there' - surely they mean 'their'? And, thirdly, if they wish England to be an island that wouldn't that mean a rather expensive digging operation to seperate the country from Wales and Scotland?
