And that's how you'll feel, listening to this the latest solo album from
David Gilmour (or "The Voice and Guitar of Pink Floyd" which the rather helpful sticker proclaimed on the attractive CD case - like I didn't know that).
Don't expect a great rock classic, but rather a sombre ambient album; moody where the music and lyrics gently wash over you, with Gilmour handling most of the instrumental parts and his wife, Polly Samson, writing the lyrics.
Samson is no Roger Waters but has still managed to script a few polished lines of lyric - but it's the instrumental pieces that really shine on this album, with Gilmour's trademark searing guitar solos.
Definitely recommended if you're a Floyd fan (obviously) but also if you prefer "oldie" music - none of the modern crap that gets endlessly recycled, not that all modern music is crap you understand.
Just the majority. :)
