Nice 'n' cool

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the sun but the last couple of days have been just unbearable - it's still pretty clammy, but not so humid nor hot.

With a couple of cold beers last night, I watched the truly heart-warming Tsotsi - it deservedly won the Oscar for best foreign language film. A thoroughly recommended feel-good flick that is neither preachy nor saccharine.

As a highlight of the day last Sunday, I visited a new Borders store - well, it was lovely and cool inside - I clambered onboard the Preacher bus - 'tis only taken me ten years!

I also purchased a copy of Philip K Dick's The Man in the High Castle which I've been meaning to do for quite some time now. When I'll get around to reading either of these, well, who knows...

I still want to read A Scanner Darkly before the film is released.

It looks absolutely stunning, but for me Renaissance (which uses the same rotoscope technique) looks much better - maybe it's the black and white noir feeling.

Of course, watching the trailer to Renaissance reminded me of Streetmeat
a comic written by Noel K Hannan and drawn by Rik Rawling.

It was because of this comic that I ended up publishing Noel's collection Shenanigans - copies still available, naturally. :)

Writing-wise, I've been pretty lacklustre but in a spurt of creativity I did start on something for an anthology called Love & Sacrifice. Whether or not I actually finish it...

PP just takes up too much of my time - if only I could ditch the day-job and go full-time. Anyone want to invest a couple o' grand? ;-)

Anyway, until next time... TTFN.
