He's a nice man...

... a very nice man, who might make me rich. Possibly.

Well, movie options are ten a-penny, but according to this Variety report, Tim Lebbon's White may well be heading to a big screen sometime soon.

Did I tell you I've got a copy of it's original publication - not the Nightshade book, but the MOT chapbook (signed) published a few years ago? Right, I'll start the bidding at £75... ;-)

And if there is a Lebbon completist reading this, then you can also bag a copy of Nasty Snips too (which contains the first-appearance of his story "The Beach").

Anyway, I hope this "breakthrough" gives Tim some recognition in the UK - most of his published work is in the US, where he is quite probably huge, but as yet no UK deal.

I have the MOT chapbook too (also signed, when I met Tim at the MOT-day in London) and, of course, a copy of "Nasty Snips"!

How long ago was that? Good day, though... I think it was the first time we met, but I could be mistaken.

It was back in 2000, wasn't it? I think we did meet up that day, which was the first con-type-thing I'd ever been to, so I met a ton of people that day.

I still remember the first time Diane and I saw one of Tim's books in the main display rack at a local Barnes & Noble. We were trying to keep from telling people, "We KNOW that guy!!"

Tim has yet to be seen on the shelves of Waterstones over here, Elizabeth (the equiv. of B&N) - he's more famous in the US than here!

I think there were also quite a few there Mark who seem to have disappeared from the "scene".

Yes, the "lost". I sat with Paul Lockey at the start (and Simon Morden) and he seemed to fade away once Unhinged did. It's a shame really. I mentioned this on my LJ a while back, after that Nasty Piece Of Work thread started up at TTA.
