Britain, Britain, Britain...

... now, what do you consider an acceptable face of the Nation? This rather silly girl or these who risked everything to bring back their fallen comrade who had hitherto died.

Now, who do you think had the most media coverage last week?

Sometimes, I weep for how vacuous not only our media has become but also the population of the UK.

I flew home from Germany on Friday and sat next to a chap who was ex-pat English (left in 1973), lived in Cape Town and worked in Prague as a consultant. He was very friendly, very intelligent and we had a good, involved conversation. At some point, racism came up (for various different reasons) and then we – two relatively smart men, one on his late 30’s, one in his early 50’s (I would think) – had a discussion about Big Brother. Granted, we talked about different shows in different parts of the world, but he knew who Jade was.

Sad to think that neither of us knew about the soldiers.

Alas, it's the same way in the States. Everyone is more concerned about a feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell (both idiots) than the thousands of soldiers we've sent to their deaths in Iraq.

When you have an ape for a President, what do you expect?

Mind you, the Ministry of Defence recently updated the age-rating to 35 for new recruits to be enrolled in the army...

Hmm, methinks they have a problem in obtaining cannon fodder, which to the eyes of corrupt politicians, is all soldiers are.

Bastards.

Yeah, I pretty much refuse to watch the news anymore because it just makes me horribly angry. I change the television station anytime anyone mentions the president or the war.
