Musical Heroes

It's late, I've been drinking, and Youtube is such a great waste of time, but I found clips of probably my main musical heroes:

Freddie Mercury & Queen: the 1986 Wembley concert is just, well, words fail me ("fuck you").

Vangelis: Alpha (a great 2001 video by someone); Antarctica; Chariots of Fire (naturally); Bladerunner (end titles, video by someone); and, an interview.

Pink Floyd: Comfortably Numb (taken from the film); Shine on You Crazy Diamond (I was so glad I went to that concert!); and, Live 8 (the whole set, with Roger Waters!)

Anyway, time for bed. Well, not really, more drinking - still got a bottle of Magners to polish off... ;-)

I got to see Queen on the Kinda Magic tour in 86, in France no less, with Marillion on their Misplaced Childhood tour as support. Fantastic gig.

And not just because of the young lady I met on the ferry coming back...

I got the CD of this from Tesco a few weeks back and mentioned it on my Live Journal - cracking concert, that I could have attended, but didn't. Idiot that I am.

Mark, that has to be a major letdown in your life... apparently Steve Lockley had a chance of seeing Queen when they were a support act, which tells you that Steve is getting on a bit. ;-)

Gary, did you pile on the Welsh charm? Marillion, eh? If you're partial to a spot of soft-prog, then check out Magenta.
