Watched Hot Fuzz last night - absolutely hilarious, which only suffers from just being slightly too long (a few nips and tucks in the edit would've brought the film down from just over two hours.)
Nevertheless, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are essentially the current Godfather's of British Comedy, and after the faultless zombie horror-fest Shaun of the Dead and now this, the buddy-cop movie, is there any genre that they cannot write? Who knows, but I'd be very interested to see what they make of Jane Austen or Pride and Prejudice.
I won't bore you with the plot, since you can just click on the above link, but Pegg and Nick Frost make - and as you would expect - a superb double-act to easily rival Crockett & Tubbs, Carter & Regan, Riggs & Murtaugh, Bhodi & Utah et al.
The film is also surprisingly gory - Adam Buxton's demise is particulary note-worthy - but what makes it even special for me, are the number of recognisable faces from British TV, "oh it's her from... and him from..." Well, recognisable to us, but not to you, the overseas reader. Best of the crop is probably Bill Bailey who plays, well, Bill Bailey. Twice. ;-)
There is also, apprently, two un-credited cameo's from A-list actors in the film - Cate Blanchett included. I think I know who she played, but I can't place the other.
Being major film-buffs/geeks, Pegg and Wright cram in as many action-cop film references as posible - the main element being Point Break.
Anyway, enough of my waffling: get on down to your local flea-pit and watch it - trust me, you won't be disappointed.
By the way, the title refers to probably the funniest line in the film. Rivals Braindead's "I kick arse for the Lord!"
What is it about foul-mouthed vicars?

Blanchett plays Pegg's ex-missus; who's the other uncredited A-lister?
You've spoilt it for people now Gary.... ;)
As for the other, from what I've read it's another LOTR cast-member amongst the SOCO squad.
